David & Karin welcome you to the Crown Inn & hope you enjoy your visit.
Karin had a very successful award winning Freehouse in the village of Chapmanslade, Wiltshire for over 16 years, followed by a restaurant at a Hampshire Golf Club, where she was Chef for over 10 years. David was Steward at a Hampshire Golf Club followed by Steward for the British Legion. Both of us having been in the hospitality trade for many years, decided to return to the West Country where we come from & took over The Crown Inn on 6th January 2016. The village of Uploders is a lovely place to be, with excellent walks & stunning views
Since taking over we have redecorated, to give the pub a feel of a country cottage Inn which is well supported locally.Whatever the weather, take a visit to the Crown either to eat or drink inside a traditional West Dorset Country Pub, or enjoy the large enclosed garden. Our cosy Bar is warm & welcoming, with a real fire in winter.
The Crown is family run with the help of our excellent team. David in the Bar serving 3 changing Palmers Real Ales, Wines, Spirits or Soft drinks & Karin who is the Chef, preparing only the freshest of mouth watering food, all home cooked along with an excellent selection of homemade desserts. Our menu changes frequently, but the usual favourites are almost always available. Karin’s homemade Pies with many variations on fillings are a big favourite.

We have just had a very successful Golf Day at Bulbury Woods Golf Club on the 6th September 2022. Next one will be at Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club, date to be confirmed in November 2022 for the Turkey Trot.
We host three Crown Golf Days through the year. New month of June, September & our special one in November (Turkey Trot) win your Christmas Turkey from a local supplier. These are played Texas Scramble format, Posters are up early & Facebook page showing information on where & what time. All prizes are supplied by ourselves~ Its a brilliant day & well supported, should you be interested we would ask you to contact us & leave your details

There are lots of Holiday Cottages around us & we see many of the visitors returning time & time again, with some becoming good friends. There is also an excellent B & B named Dippers very close to the pub should you want a visit to Uploders.
